Frequently
asked questions
My child has a chronic health condition or HAS special needs. Can I still become a member?
At Juniper Pediatrics, we understand that some children may feel overwhelmed or anxious in traditional healthcare settings. That's why we have designed our clinic with these children in mind. Our waiting room is comfortable and safe, with minimal patients and stimulation to help your child feel at ease. We provide holistic and collaborative healthcare to all of our patients, working closely with your child's specialists, therapists, and school to ensure the best possible health plan. Our goal is to create a welcoming and supportive environment where your child can thrive.
Do I still need Health insurance if I become a member?
While Direct Primary Care membership covers a wide range of primary care services, it is important to note that insurance is still necessary for emergency room visits, urgent care visits, surgeries, and possible hospitalizations. However, our preventative healthcare model, combined with easy access to your physician, aims to reduce the need for these types of visits. It is also important to note that insurance is required to see pediatric specialists. Finally, insurance covers the cost of vaccinations for your child. If your child receives vaccinations at our clinic, we will bill your insurance provider accordingly, and you will not be charged for these services.
Do You recommend a specific type of insurance?
Yes. Direct Primary Care is works well with high deductible health plans and health share plans. Depending on your insurance, working with a direct primary care practice can actually save you money in the long run.
Can I use my hSA or FSA account to pay for membership?
Yes, though we recommend you check with your HSA/FSA provider first.
Do you offer vaccinations as part of your well check visits?
Absolutely. Vaccines save lives, and are critical to our healthcare.
Do you accept unvaccinated patients?
At Juniper Pediatrics, the safety and health of our patients and staff are our top priorities. To reduce the potential spread of highly transmissible and contagious diseases in our space, we require that all patients be vaccinated.
If you have concerns or questions about vaccinations, we would be happy to schedule a telemedicine appointment with you to discuss them further. We are committed to providing you with the information and support you need to make informed decisions about your child's health.
Do you offer After-Hours care?
Yes! After-hours telemedicine is available to you Monday-Friday, and for limited hours on the weekends.
Do you have on-site testing and medications?
Yes! On-site covid, flu, urine-dip, and strep testing, are all covered by your membership. Additionally, our membership plan encompasses in-office over-the-counter medications, nebulizer treatments, anti-nausea medication, and asthma exacerbation steroids. There are no surprise bills at Juniper Pediatrics.

We offer an exceptional value on blood testing through CPL, with most tests priced at less than $5.00. Blood tests can also be applied to your insurance if you wish.
